This first video single \u201cWe Were Fire\u201d appears mainly thanks to the enthusiasm of film director and black metal aficionado <\/span>Krishna Muthurangu<\/u><\/strong><\/a>, along with the many talents of his production crew, notably DoP <\/span>Crouchy<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/a> who captured the footage and is responsible for most all of the coolest pictures on this very site.<\/span>

Production began in October 2025, just as the weather began to turn. This brought a few complications and lead to the cancelling of several filming attempts which meant the shoot took place over several months. The first section shot was the guitar in the sea stuff - quite a challenge\u2026
\"DirectorThe tide kept chasing us up the beach, Flamulus was sinking into the soft sand, unable to see anything and having difficulty hearing the track over the waves. The lighting rigs were tricky to move and stabilise, which needed to be done frequently due to the rising tide. But we overcame these various obstacles and with a little luck nobody (and none of the fancy gear) fell in the sea.
\"GafferWe wrapped that up and some weeks later, at the next break in the wet weather headed straight back to the beach - to shoot some of the storyboarded narrative, in daylight and with a little more storm surge experience this time.
\"DirectorsAfter some inadvertent soaking of actors, the beach ritual was completed and we drove further inland to a patch of waste ground to film atmospheric fire scenes in the darkness.
\"BTSExtra thanks go to Mike & Alex from <\/span>Nemorous<\/u><\/strong><\/a> here, who aside from their support and encouragement for the project also stepped in at the eleventh hour to appear as the cultists you see in the video.<\/span>

Weather and availability postponed the rest of the shoot until 2026 when we all eventually managed to finally get the drum filming done. An epic logistical task and after some abortive attempts to get cymbals to light on fire we wrapped both the drum and bass playing sections.<\/span>
\"DrummersAfter several chase scenes in the forest which Matty Ride-Smith<\/u><\/strong><\/a> handled barefoot! The last section was filmed in late March 2026, purpose built for practical effects - a fake corridor made from spandex for some sinister hands in the walls footage which features towards the end of the video.
\"MattyAfter sifting through all the killer footage Crouchy shot throughout, <\/span>the video was edited, expertly colour graded and ready for release.
